Challenge
Activant faced the challenge of finding a more efficient and reliable means of managing overall customer service delivery. The professional services group manages a multi-million dollar portfolio using offline tools like Microsoft Excel. The challenge was to building a custom software solution to increase margins through reductions in cordination costs and increased efficiencly.
Results
By leveraging the new custom project management application built by Vialuna Technology, saw an immediate reduction in administrative overhead previously required to set up new projects and assign resources. The ability to collaborate on projects reduced delivery time. The app interfaced directly with existing ERP systems to create a single-source solution for service delivery.
Project Details
Vialuna Technology partnered with Activant to define and develop a custom web-based project management solution to meet the unique requirements and processes needed by Activant. Vialuna Technology developed a web-based application with the following key components:
- Accessible by all employees in the organization
- Authenticated against Active Directory to control security to project and customer data
- Interfaced to the Oracle ERP system to retrieve new order data to facilitate the setup of new projects in the project management application
- Provide an online time tracking module to capture key time metrics and facilitate the calculation of actual project margins
- Provide an online scheduling module to enhance the visibility of all available resources to increase utilization
